I am successor trustee to my parent’s trust. A prior trustee obtained an EIN for the family revocable trust, although it was not needed and has never been used. Do I still need to obtain a new EIN now that the trust is irrevocable?
You can use the same EIN that was obtained earlier.

Yes - most irrevocable trusts have to file a tax return every year. So you need an EIN number to do that. Hope this helps.
