I had knee surgery and was told surgeon and facility were in network and everything was covered. All was well UNTIL I received a bill from the anesthesiologist. I had the claim appealed with my insurance and they come in and pd 500 but the provider said they would not honor the DISCOUNTED amount because they are not in network and don’t have to. I explained to them I did NOT know I had a choice of anesthesiologist, so how can I appeal this again?
You will want to call your insurance company and have them send the claim back through for processing stating you had no choice of anesthesiologist.
